Sarah Freia is a trained lyric Soprano (A3-C6)

She is a proficient singer in the styles of Pop, Classical, Musical Theatre, Indie, and Opera.

Sarah has studied classical vocal technique since early childhood, both through private coaching, and being a part of the prestigious Principal Chorus of the CCOC (Canadian Children’s Opera Company). As a result, she has a lot of experience performing with the Canadian Opera Company, with orchestras (at venues such as Roy Thompson Hall or Sony Centre for the Performing Arts), and with various film and stage projects.

Sarah continues to take bi-weekly vocal lessons today. She has sung professionally at many events, concerts, and in musical theatre shows. A recent favourite includes being invited to sing “When You Believe” at The Great Hall in Toronto,.

On top of performing, Sarah is also a proficient songwriter. She was recently chosen to collaborate, and perform a lead role, in an original holiday musical theatre production entitled “8 Gays of Channukah - The Musical”. Since its premiere, it has been featured in prominent media outlets, including The Toronto Star, CBC, and, Queer FM BC. It has also received official recognition and letters of support from the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, Ontario Premier Doug Ford, and Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow. In 2025, the production made its West Coast debut in Vancouver as the opening performance of an international performing arts festival, and there are discussions to begin a tour…
